The AFC Adult Amateur Competition is open to Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and South Carolina residents who engage in flute playing on an unpaid basis, who are not currently enrolled as a student at a university, and are over the age of 30 as of February 1st, 2026. Applicants must be a member of the The Atlanta Flute Club and be current in their dues obligations. 
Applicants, your membership fee will be automatically added to your application fee at checkout.

NOVICE:
1. *J.S Bach - Polonaise & Badinerie from Suite in B minor, BWV 1067 (any edition) no repeats
2. Contrasting piece of choice. (not to exceed 5 minutes)
no piano accompaniment required

 

INTERMEDIATE:

1. *Anna Bon di Venezia - Sonata in D Major, op. 1 no. 4 (any edition)
2. Contrasting piece of choice (not to exceed 5 minutes)
no piano accompaniment required

 

ADVANCED:
1. *Henri Busser - Prelude et Scherzo
2. Contrasting piece of choice (not to exceed 5 minutes)
no piano accompaniment required

Pieces marked with a * are also required for the 2026 NFA Adult Amateur Masterclass Competition!

 

A committee will judge all recordings. Three finalists in each category

will be recognized on March 14th, 2026 at the AFC Flute Fair.​

The deadline for recorded audition submission is 11:59 pm on February 1st, 2026.

A $25 application fee is due upon submission.
