The competition is open to flutists who have not reached their thirtieth (30th) birthday. A preliminary recorded audition is required. A committee will judge the preliminary audition, and three finalists will be chosen to compete at the AFC Flute Fair on March 14th, 2026.

The Middle School division is open to students from 5th grade through 8th grade. The High School division is open to students from 9th grade through 12th grade. A preliminary recorded audition is required. A committee will judge the preliminary audition. Students may enter either the Junior Artist Competition or the Young Artist Competition, but may not apply for both.

Given in memory of Carl D. Hall, one of our founding members and an avid supporter of the Atlanta Flute Club, the competition is open to full-time high school and college students who have not reached their thirtieth (30th) birthday.  The competition will be by recorded audition which will be judged by a committee. The winner will also present a short piccolo recital at the 2026 Flute Fair.

The Adult Amateur Competition is open to flutists who engage in the pursuit of flute playing on an unpaid basis and who are not currently enrolled as a student at a university and are over the age of 30 as of February 1st, 2026.

The Masterclass Competition is for college flutists who are enrolled full-time as a student at a university at the time of application. Three finalists will be chosen to perform in a masterclass for AFC Flute Fair guest artist Todd Skitch at the Flute Fair on March 14th, 2026.
