Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Flute Choir Extravaganza has been postponed. Please check back for rescheduling information!

Flute Choir Extravaganza is a concert that features several flute choirs including adult, college and youth groups that each perform a short program. At the conclusion of the concert, all choirs play a traditional closing piece together.

The first Flute Choir Extravaganza was on November 19, 2006. This concert was held in the large Tharp rehearsal hall at the Schwartz Center totaling 77 performers! Soon, the 10th annual Flute Choir Extravaganza was celebrated on November 15, 2015 with 102 performers and more than 200 in the audience. “The Phoenix”, a piece commissioned by AFC to celebrate our 10th year was composed and directed by Atlanta flutist Nicole Chamberlain. To learn more about who has performed, please view Flute Choir Extravaganza: A History.

If you have never been to this event, please join us for the camaraderie and fun of meeting new friends and sharing the joy of hearing flute music. There is a good chance you will hear music that has never been performed in Atlanta before! If you have a choir that is interested in performing, please contact us. This AFC event, held annually in November, is a free concert and open to the public.
